Trains connect the airport, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the coast. Public transport stops for Shabbat, so plan Friday afternoons and Saturday separately.

From Friday afternoon much of the country pauses. Shop early, confirm restaurant hours, and expect a very different atmosphere in Jerusalem than in Tel Aviv.
