Jerusalem is a city of neighborhoods with very different characters. Rehavia is central, walkable and classic, with smaller apartments and higher prices per square meter. Baka feels like a village, is heavily Anglo, and is the top request from families relocating from North America.
If budget is the binding constraint, look slightly further out. If community is the priority, visit on a Shabbat before deciding anything.
