The A/2 student visa, explained

The A/2 visa covers students enrolled in a recognised Israeli institution. Your school issues a letter of acceptance which supports the application, usually made at an Israeli consulate before travel.
The A/2 does not permit general employment. It does allow you to stay for the duration of your program and to extend inside Israel through Misrad HaPnim.
